Top Gold - Australian Alternative Varieties       Wine Show 2022  Silver - Perth Royal Wine Awards 2023  Silver - Langhorne Creek Wine Show 2023  • 95 Points James Halliday  Wine Companion 2024 Edition  Bleasdale has been using Cabernet Franc in blends for over 25 years.  The opportunity to  present the varietal on its own was too hard to resist, especially as a bouncy, fresh and crunchy  red.  This wine has been made with minimal yet attentive winemaking and is bottled with low  sulphites for early consumption, a perfect spring/summer red.  Bright crimson red with purple tints, the perfume is inviting with rose petal, musk and raspberry  from whole berry fermentation along with some candle wax and star anise/fennel complexity.   The palate is lively with a silky middle palate, some structural savoury tannins and a crunchy red  apple finish.   VINEYARD  Borrett’s 3 Corner Vineyard and  Bleasdale’s Ford Road Vineyard  Langhorne Creek, South Australia  HARVEST DATES AND BAUMÉ  8th and 9th March 2022  12.0 and 12.3  VARIETIES  Cabernet Franc  BOTTLING DATE  21st September 2022  CELLARING POTENTIAL  Drinking well now until 2027  WINEMAKING TECHNIQUES  De-stemmed only to a concrete fermenter  followed by a cool soak for 48 hours.  Fermented for 6-8 days on skins peaking at  28ºC before being pressed at 4 Baume to  finish fermenting in stainless steel.  Racked to   stainless steel for MLF before being racked to  oak for maturation for 5 months  OAK MATURATION  5 months in seasoned French oak puncheons  and stainless steel to retain freshness  WINE ANALYSIS  Alcohol: 12.5% alc/vol  Titratable acidity: 6.1g/L  pH: 3.37  SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRING  Best served slightly chilled 12 - 15ºC  Enjoy with friends over an antipasto plate  or a bowl of pasta
